A letter to the editor of a newspaper discussing the evils of the prevalent examination system.

     The Editor,

     The News.

     City.

     Subject: Evils of Examination System.

Sir,

I want to use the space of the columns of your newspaper to enlighten the public opinion against the evils of present examination system. As everybody knows, our examination system stands a total disaster. its reason are not very deep.

Examinations are a necessary evil. We cannot do without them . They are the test of man's ability. There is no other method which may reveal to us the ability and efficiency of a person. If a person has passed some examination, he is valued respected But it is very sad that our examinations have fallen a prey to many evils. Cheating, copying and the use of unfair means have become the order of the day. The paper are leaked out. The examiners are bribed. The examinations hall are purchased. The mark sheet are tempered. in this way, the examinations have lost there credibility. They are no longer the test of a students ability.

Moreover, the examinations are the test of a student's memory and not his ability and intelligence.

The student feel nervous and agitated near the examination. Two years labour is tested in three hours time. This means that the present examinations are not the sure method of judging a student's ability.

The authorities are requested to set up commission consisting of educationists to look into the evils of present examination system and suggest ways and means to change it completely.

                                                    Your sincerely,

                                                    X.Y.Z.
